Dijon-Prenois
"The Forgotten Gem of French Motorsport"
A beautiful, flowing circuit in the hills of Burgundy. Small but intense, with spectacular elevation changes.
Circuit de Dijon-Prenois
Circuit de Dijon-Prenois is a hidden gem in the heart of Burgundy. This compact yet intense circuit winds through the hills north of Dijon and delivers an incredibly flowing driving experience. With 12 corners over 3.8 kilometres, every metre of the circuit is action. The famous Pouas hairpin and the fast uphill section make this a circuit you simply have to drive. It is also the setting of one of the most famous F1 battles ever — Arnoux vs Villeneuve in 1979.
Opened in 1972, Dijon-Prenois hosted the French Grand Prix five times between 1974 and 1984. The circuit is perhaps best known for the epic battle between René Arnoux and Gilles Villeneuve on the final lap of the 1979 GP — regarded as one of the greatest races of all time.
