Autódromo do Estoril
The Autódromo do Estoril is a circuit full of emotion and history. Located near the coast, not far from Lisbon and fashionable Cascais, this classic circuit offers a challenging mix of fast and technical sections. Estoril is perhaps best known as the place where Ayrton Senna took his very first F1 win in 1985 — in the pouring rain. The circuit hosted the Portuguese Grand Prix from 1984 to 1996 and today is a popular venue for trackdays and historic events.
Opened in 1972, Estoril hosted the Portuguese Grand Prix from 1984 to 1996. The 1985 race, in which Ayrton Senna took a masterful win in the rain, is regarded as one of the greatest achievements in F1 history. After F1, the circuit remained active with WSBK and other championships. It is now a beloved trackday venue.
