Step 3 · DMSB Permit Nordschleife

Get your DMSB Permit Nordschleife

No DMSB Permit Nordschleife (DPN), no NLS and no 24h Nürburgring. We explain how it works — and with our Permit B Programme we arrange your whole route, right up to your permit application.

What is the DPN?

The DMSB authorisation for the Nordschleife

The DMSB Permit Nordschleife (DPN) is mandatory for the NLS, the 24h Qualifiers and the 24h Nürburgring. It comes on top of your racing licence and shows that you know the Nordschleife, its flags and its traffic.

Everyone starts with the DPN e-learning and an online test. Which permit you need after that depends on the car and the race: C, B or A.

Permit A, B and C

Who may drive what?

Permit C

For the RCN race "Schwedenkreuz" and classic series.

Permit B

For the NLS, the Qualifiers and the 24h in category B cars: power-to-weight ratio above 4.2 kg/hp, including the classes V2, V4, VT2 and SP1–SP4. With an international D-Circuit licence you obtain it via the DMSB-recognised DPN course (theory plus at least 4 hours of practice on the Nordschleife, about 16 laps) or via 2 RCN Leistungsprüfungen. With only a national licence you first drive 3 RCN rounds. For the 24h with Permit B you also need 1 NLS result within the past 2 years.

Permit A

For category A cars: GT4/SP10, Porsche Cup, GT3 and more. Easier since 2026: with Permit B and, in a category B car at the NLS, the Qualifiers or the 24h, at least 1 penalty-free race result and at least 8 laps (of which no more than 2 from qualifying).

Source: DMSB, "Voraussetzungen DPN", as of 1 January 2026. The DMSB issues the permit; its regulations are decisive.

Frequently asked questions about the DMSB Permit Nordschleife

How much does the DMSB Permit Nordschleife cost?

The permit itself costs the DMSB fee for your level. Our Permit B Programme costs €9,950 excl. VAT and covers the whole route; the DMSB fees and your licence come on top.

Can I get the permit with a national licence?

For Permit B via the DPN course or via 2 RCN Leistungsprüfungen you need an international D-Circuit licence. With only a national licence you first drive 3 RCN rounds — we plan that adapted route with you.

How quickly can I get Permit A?

Faster than before since 2026: with Permit B, at least 1 penalty-free race result and at least 8 laps in a category B car at the NLS, the Qualifiers or the 24h are enough, of which no more than 2 laps from qualifying.

Can I race the 24h Nürburgring with Permit B?

Yes, in a category B car such as our BMW 125i M — provided you have achieved 1 NLS result within the 2 years before.
